Kursuse eesmärk on omandada teadmisi energiaturgudest ja energiakaubandusest, statistika analüüsimeetoditest ning arendada oskusi erinevate energiaallikate kasutamise planeerimiseks.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- selgitab energiastatistika põhialuseid ja selle aluseks olevat majandust;
- on võimeline leidma trende ja analüüsima energiasektori muutusi statistiliste andmete abil;
- oskab hinnata investeeringu teostatavust ja kas valitud energialiik (tuul/päike jne) on antud piirkonnale sobilik.

- explains the fundamentals of energy statistics and economics behind it;
- is capable of finding trends and analyzing energy sector changes using statistical data;

Kursus annab teavet erinevate taastuvate energiaallikate kättesaadavuse kohta. Annab ülevaade energiaallikate tõhususest, erinevate energiaallikate kasutamise praegustest suundumustest ja eri riikide investeeringutest tehnoloogiasse. Analüüsitakse statistilisi andmeid tootmise ja tarbimise kohta energia turul, samuti uuritakse ressursside tõhusa kasutamise majanduslikku komponenti.

This course provides information of availability of different sources of renewable energy. It gives an overview of the efficiency of energy sources, current trends in the use of different sources, and the amount of investment in technology by various countries. Analysis of statistical data on production and consumption, as well as the study of the economic component in the efficient use of resources.
