To give basic knowledge about software programs used by road engineers in Estonia and to further integrate the knowledge acquired from theoretical courses by solving practical tasks

1. Tunneb Eestis kasutatavat liiklusloenduse ja reisijateloenduse metoodikat ning eelnevaga seotud andmetöötlust
2. Oskab kasutada Riiklikku Teeregistrit, sooritada päringuid ja vormistada päringu tulemusi kasutades kaardiserverit ja GIS programmide lihtsamaid võimalusi
3. Oskab kasutada programmi AutoCad Civil3D maastikumudeli loomiseks ja lihtsamate maastikplaneerimise alaste ülesannete lahendamiseks

1. Knows the methodology of traffic counting and subsequent analysis, has knowledge about passenger counting in public transport
2. Knows how to use national registry of roads, is competent of making queries from the register and analyzing the data with the help of web map server and GIS programs
3. Has knowledge about using AutoCad Civil3D to create terrain models and solving basic grading problems

Liiklusloenduse andmete kogumine ja töötlemine. Loendusandmete dünaamika uurimine ja tasandamine, ühistranspordis läbiviidavate loenduste andmetöötlus. Päringukeel SQL ja selle kasutamine. PMS programmi kasutamisvõimaluste tutvustus. Tutvumine GIS programmidega ArcGIS ja MapInfo. Päringud GIS programmides Teeregistri näitel. Tutvumine liikluse modelleerimise üldiste põhimõtetega ja liiklusmudeliga CUBE.

Traffic counting, data gathering and processing. Subsequent data analysis, finding trends and calculating statistics. Passenger studies in public transport with following data analysis and presentation of results. Basic usage of structured query language SQL. Pavement management system software PMS. Basic overview of GIS programs and fundamentals on cartography. Simple thematic maps. Introduction into traffic modeling, CUBE transport modeling software.

Harjutused: Ühistranspordi loendusandmete töötlus;
töö PMS programmiga etteantud lõigul;
eelneva töö tulemuste esitamine GIS programmiga;
liiklusmudeli täiendamine Nõmme või Tallinna kesklinna näitel ja modelleerimisetulemuste esitamine kasutades programmi CUBE; maastikumudeli koostamine AutoCad Civil3D abil; tulemuste vormistamine veebilehena.
Harjutusülesannete lahendamine on arvestuse eeldusteks

Exercises: Analysis of public transport passenger counting data; practical work with PMS program; presenting results of previous exercises with GIS program; practical work with traffic modeling software CUBE; practical work with AutoCad Civil3D; presenting results of all exercises as web page.
