VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
course aims in English
To give an overview of the nature of the activities of the logistics system (incl. supply, distribution network, production logistics, procurement and distribution logistics) and theoretical as well as practical planning.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
• Identifies problems in the company's logistics that differ from the main activity and identifies the causes of these problems.
• Approaches the logistics system holistically and sees solutions to problems using different theories / techniques.
• Defines the factors and constraints (external / internal) that affect a specific logistics system and explains (qualitatively and quantitatively) their impact on system performance (production, supply / distribution network).
• Uses the most common performance indicators to measure the performance of logistics system processes (security of supply, delivery speed, flexibility, supply chain costs, return on assets, inventory turnover, production process optimization indicators, etc.) and to identify bottlenecks.
• Maps / models the complete logistics system based on its needs.
• Designs and documents the improvement of the logistics system based on the business strategy, customer needs and mapping / modelling results.
• Selects an appropriate method to create a comprehensive optimization model and justify its validity orally and in writing.
