brief description of the course in Estonian
Sissejuhatus, katsetamise vajadus, erinevate katsemeetodite liigitus ning katsetuste standardimine. Katsetuste planeerimine ja katseandmete analüüs. Sissejuhatav ülevaade puit-, polümeer- ja tekstiilmaterjalide struktuuri eripärast. Materjalide (puit-, polümeer- ja tekstiilmaterjalid) tuvastamise meetodid : lihtmeetodid, mikroskoopia, spektroskoopia, kalorimeetria, kromatograafia jm. Pinnaomadused: ülevaade, spektroskoopia, kromatograafia, mikroskoopia, pindpinevus, triboloogia. Degradeerumine: degradatsiooni liigid, spektroskoopia, termiline analüüs, kromatograafia. Mehaanilised omadused: pinge-deformatsioonikäitumine ja viskoelastsus, tõmbe- ja survekatsed, paindekatsed, rebimiskatsed, väsimuskatsed, löögikatsed, kõvaduse määramine, reoloogia, dünaamilis-mehaaniline analüüs. Materjalide veeimavus ja selle mõju füüsikalis-mehaanilistele omadustele. Pinnakattematerjalide omaduste hindamine. Kunstlik vanandamine ning vastupanu välitingimustele (UV, temperatuur, niiskus, biokahjurid). Bioloogiline vastupidavus. Iga analüüsimeetodi juures tutvustatakse olemasolevaid normatiive ja standardeid.
brief description of the course in English
Introduction, the need for testing, diferent testing methods, the need for standardisation. How to plan an experiment - experimental design, data analysis and experimental strategies. Identification methods of different materials (wood, plastic and textile materials). Introduction of different analytical methods for material structure analysis (spectroscopy, microscopy, chromatography and thermal) and physico-mechanical properties, artificial weathering and outdoor performance and biological durability standardised evaluation methods.
Structure, properties and applications of wood-, plastic-, and textile products including the relevant performance standards; mechanical and physical (e.g. thermal) performance characteristics of products in service; long-term performance of wood and wood products, including evaluation of physical and biological degradation.
type of assessment in Estonian
Õppimise järjepidevus tagatakse loengute, seminaride ja laboratoorsete tööde ning kaheksa testi sooritamisega semestri jooksul. Laboratoorsetele töödele eelneb vastavate teadmiste kontroll. Seminaride jooksul sooritatakse 4 suulist ettekannet. Positiivsed sooritused on eelduseks eksamiks. Eksamil kontrollitakse teoreetilisi teadmisi kirjalikus testi vormis. Soorituste osakaal lõpphindes:
testid 8 × 5%,
seminariettekanded 4 x 5%,
eksam 40%.
type of assessment in English
Consistency of the studies during the study semester is guaranteed by lectures, seminars and practical works and eight tests. Prior laboratory work small tests for students will be made. During the seminars 4 presentations will be made. Pre-requisites for the exam are the laboratory work reports submitted on time and passed and four seminar presentations performed and evaluated.
Tests 8 x 5%,
Presentations in the seminars 4 x 5%,
Exam 40%.
independent study in Estonian
8 e-testi lahendamine, teoreetiline ettevalmistus laboratoorseteks töödeks, valmistumine seminari ettekanneteks.
independent study in English
Solving the 8 e-tests, theoretical preparation for the laboratory work, preparation for seminars and presentations.
