1) Tunnevad plastitööstuse erimeetodeid ja võtteid ning oskavad neid kasutada tehniliselt nõudlikumate toodete valmistamisel.
2) Tunnevad plasttoodete viimistlus ja ühendusmeetodeid.
3) Mõistavad plasttoodete disaini erinõudeid ja iseärasusi.
4) Tunnevad plastitööstuse ja plasttoodete keskkonnamõju.
5) Oskavad korraldada tootmise jälgimist ja kvaliteedi tagamist plastitööstuses.

Kursuse käigus selitatakse vähemlevinud ning tehnoloogiliselt nõudlikumaid plastitehnoloogia valdkondi nagu reaktsioonsurvevalu, kalandreerimine, vahtplastide töötlemine, kiirgusel põhinevad töötlemismeetodid. Antakse algteadmisi kõrgtehnoloogia valdkondadest plastitööstuses nagu mikro- ja nanotehnoloogiad. Tutvustatakse plastitööstuses kasutatavaid ühendamis- ja viimistlusprotsesse. Tutvustatakse plasttoodete disaini põhimõtted lähtuvalt tööstuslike tehnoloogiate erinõudmistest. Tutvustatakse kaasaegse plastitööstuse juhtimise esmatõdesid, protsessi jälgimist, simulatsiooni, kvaliteedi tagamist.
brief description of the course in English
During the course less common and technologically more demanding fields of plastics technology as reactive injection moulding, calendaring, foaming and radiation processing are explained. Basic knowledge about micro- and nanotechnologies in plastics processing industry is presented. Assembly and finishing processes of plastic products are introduced. Design concepts of plastic products are explained in accordance with special requirements of the industrial technologies. Basics of management of plastics industry, including monitoring, simulation of production processes and quality assurance are presented.
