Õppeaine eesmärk on anda üliõpilastele:
- praktilised oskused roheliste energiatehnoloogiate arendamise ja rakendamise vallas alates uurimistöö planeerimisest kuni tulemuste esitamiseni;
- meeskonnatöö kogemus uurimisülesande lahendamisel teadusgrupis, avaliku sektori või ettevõtluspartneri juures.

The aim of the course is to give the student:
- practical skills in the field of development and implementation of green energy technologies, starting from planning the research work up to the presentation of the results of the research;
- teamwork experience via conduction of the research work in a research group, in the public sector or private company.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- on saanud praktilise kogemuse ja omandanud oskused roheliste energiatehnoloogiate arendamise ja rakendamise vallas teaduslaboris, eriala ettevõttes või avalikus sektoris;
- oskab planeerida praktilist uurimistööd;
- oskab praktilist uurimistööd meeskonnas läbi viia;
- esitab uurimistöö tulemusi suuliselt ning kirjalikult;
- on saanud ettevalmistuse iseseisvaks teadus- ja arendustööks roheliste energiatehnoloogiate valdkonnas.

After completing this course the student:
- has practical experience and skills in the field of development and implementation of green energy technologies in a research group, in the public sector or private company;
- is able to plan practical research work;
- can conduct practical research work in a team;
- presents the results of the research work in oral and written form;
- is prepared for independent research and development work in the field of green energy technologies.

Kursuse raames üliõpilane planeerib ja viib läbi uurimisprojekti, mis on suunatud kas eriala teadusgrupi, ettevõtte või avaliku sektori asutuse poolt välja pakutud praktilise ülesande lahendamiseks. Üliõpilane sõnastab projekti eesmärgid ning koostab tööplaani. Üliõpilane annab iganädalaselt ülevaate projekti kulgemisest ja saab tagasiside kursuse seminaris. Kursus lõpeb projekti tulemuste esitamisega kirjaliku aruandena ning suulise ettekandena ja töö kaitsmisega.

In the frame of the course, the student plans and conducts a research project dedicated to solving a research question proposed by a research group, private company or a public sector institution in the field of green energy technologies. The student formulates the objectives of the project and builds a workplan. The student will give a weekly overview of the status of the research project in the course seminar. The course ends with written report and the presentation and defense of the project results.

Hinne kujuneb projekti kirjaliku ning suulise aruande ning tulemuste kaitsmise koondhindena. Maksimaalne punktide arv on vastavalt 50+25+25=100 punkti, mis teisendatakse kursuse hindeks järgnevalt:
1) „5“ 91-100 punkti – suurepärane;
2) „4“ 81-90 punkti – väga hea;
3) „3“ 71-80 punkti – hea;
4) „2“ 61-70 punkti – rahuldav;
5) „1“ 51-60 punkti – kasin;
6) „0“ 0-50 punkti – puudulik.

The course grade is based on the evaluation result of the written report, given presentation and the defense of the project results. Maximum points is accordingly 50+25+25=100 points, which is transformed to the course grade in the following way:
1) „5“ 91-100 points – excellent;
2) „4“ 81-90 points – very good;
3) „3“ 71-80 points – good;
4) „2“ 61-70 points – sufficient;
5) „1“ 51-60 punkti – poor;
6) „0“ 0-50 punkti – insufficient.
