learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
After completing this course, the student:
- knows the regulations related to the field;
- knows the basic principles of modeling and can apply them;
- can analyze environmental, energy, and chemical technology processes and prepare simpler models describing them;
- knows the basic software packages used in the field and knows how to choose a suitable package;
- knows and uses environmental impact analysis tools;
- can describe the created model and analyze and present modeling results;
- identifies sources of negative environmental impact and proposes reasonable technical options for reducing them.
brief description of the course in Estonian
Vastavalt lähteülesandele koostatakse keskkonna-, energia- ja keemiatehnoloogia protsessi mudel, lähtudes teoreetilistest teadmistest protsessi kohta ja simuleeritakse protsessi tarkvarapaketi abil. Analüüsitakse uuritavat protsessi lähtuvalt energia ja materjalide kasutusest. Pakutakse põhjendatud/optimeeritud tehniline lahendus süsteemi keskkonnamõju vähendamiseks. Töö tulemused formuleeritakse aruandeks ning esitletakse.
brief description of the course in English
According to the initial task, a model of the environmental, energy, and chemical technology process is created, based on theoretical knowledge. The process is simulated using a software package. The process under study is analysed based on the use of energy and materials. A justified/optimised technical solution is proposed to reduce the environmental impact of the system. The results of the work are formulated into a report and presented.
