Õppeaine eesmärk on:
- luua võimalus laiendatud teadmiste omandamiseks ja arendamiseks energiaturgude valdkonnas;
- luua võimalus teadmiste rakendamiseks energiaturgude või elektrituru modelleerimise valdkonnas;
- arendada analüütilist mõtlemist ja iseseisva töö oskust ning süsteemsest lähenemist majandusalaste; probleemide lahendamiseks energeetikas;
- luua võimalus projekti käigus teostatud projekti vormistamiseks lõputööks, või osaliselt.

The aim of this course is to:
- create an opportunity to acquire and develop expanded knowledge in the field of energy markets;
- create an opportunity to apply knowledge in the field of energy markets or electricity market modelling;
- develop analytical thinking and the ability to work independently and a systemic approach to solving economic problems in energy;
- create an opportunity to formalize the project carried out during the course project into a full thesis, or parts to it.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- koostab ja analüüsib energiaturgude valdkonna projekti;
- formuleerib ülesande püstituse ja analüüsib võimalikke lahendusi;
- leiab ja hindab projekti teostamiseks vajalikud lähteandmed;
- valib ja rakendab probleemi lahendamiseks sobilikku metoodikat;
- hindab tulemuste korrektsust ning koostab nende põhjal järeldused;
- diskuteerib töö lähteandmete, metoodika ja tulemuste üle ning kaitseb koostatud projekti.

Upon completion of the course student:
- prepares and analyses a project in the field of energy markets;
- formulates the task statement and analyses possible solutions;
- finds and evaluates the basic data necessary for the implementation of the project;
- chooses and applies the appropriate methodology to solve the problem;
- evaluates the correctness of the results and draws conclusions based on them;
- discusses the source data, methodology and results of the work and defends the prepared project.

Ainetöö kujutab endast praktilist projekti, kus tudeng lahendab reaalset energiaturgude valdkonna probleemi, pakub välja võimalusi selle lahendamiseks ning teostab selleks vajalikud arvutused või modelleerimise. Projekti täpsem teema ja metoodika valitakse koostöös õppejõuga.
brief description of the course in English
The course work is a practical project in which the student solves a real-life problem in the field of energy markets, proposes ways to solve it, and performs the necessary calculations or modelling. The precise topic and methodology of the project will be chosen in cooperation with the lecturer.
