2. Luua võimalus teadmiste omandamiseks elektrisüsteemide avariitõrjeautomaatikast.
3. Luua võimalus teadmiste omandamiseks releekaitse ja avariitõrjeautomaatika sätete arvutamiseks.

1. To create opportunity to obtain knowledge on the types and operation of different relay protection functions in power system and their selection principles.
2. To create opportunity to obtain knowledge on system protection functions and principles.
3. To create opportunity to obtain knowledge on calculating settings for relay and system protection functions.

- seostab ja analüüsib elektrisüsteemi talitlust ja rikkeid süsteemis ning nende algpõhjuseid ja mõju;
- kirjeldab ja eristab omavahel mikroprotsessor- ja elektromehaanilisi lülitusautomaatika seadmeid ja nende tööpõhimõtteid;
- kirjeldab releekaitsele ja süsteemiautomaatikale vajalikke mõõteandureid ning analüüsib nende mõju ja karakteristikuid;
- mõistab ja analüüsib elemendikaitse liikide elektrilisi skeeme ja nende talitluskindlust;
- arvutab ja analüüsib releekaitse ja süsteemiautomaatika sätteid;
- analüüsib releekaitse ja avariitõrjeautomaatika arengu tulevikusuundi.

After completing the course, the student should:
- associate and analyze power system operation and faults in the system and their origin and impact;
- describe and distinguish microprocessor and electromechanical relay’s operation and selection principles;
- describe measurement transducers necessary for relay protection and system automation and analyze their impact and characteristics;
- understand and analyze different type of relay protection functions and their reliability;
- calculate and analyze settings for different type of relay protection and system automation function.;
- analyze future trends of relay protection and system automation.

Elektrisüsteemi automaatjuhtimine. Mikroprotsessor- ja elektromehaanilised lülitusautomaatika seadmed. Releekaitse põhiliigid ja põhimõisted. Lülitusautomaatika põhiliigid. Releekaitsele esitatavad põhinõuded. Releekaitse mõõteandurid. Tunnussuuruse ja aja sätete arvutamine. Vooluahelate arvutus. Liigvoolukaitse, distantskaitse ja diferentsiaalkaitse. Liinide, lattide, trafode, generaatorite ja keskpingeliste mootorite kaitse. Kaitsete testimine ja arvutiprogrammid kaitsete sätete arvutamiseks. Süsteemi avariitõrjeautomaatika, süsteemikaitse tuleviku suunad.

Automatic control of power systems. Microprocessor and electromechanical units of relay protection. The base kinds of relay protection. The base requirements to relay protection. The calculation of settings for relay protection. Current and voltage transformers for relay protection. Overcurrent, distance and differencial protection. The protection of transmission lines, transformers, generators and busbars. Testing of relay protection systems, programs for calculating of settings for relay prodection, Operational automation of power system, Future trends of power systems protection.
