VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
Õppeaine eesmärk on:
- anda üliõpilastele baasteadmised hüdrodünaamika alustest ning laevast kui kahes keskkonnas (õhu ja vee piiril) üheaegselt liikuvast kehast;
- anda alusteadmised mudelkatsete teooriast.
course aims in English
The aim of the course is to:
- provide basics of hydrodynamics and to introduce ship as a body/object moving simultaneously in two environments, on the border of air and water;
- give the fundamentals of model testing theory.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- selgitab laeva liikumist mõjutavaid hüdrodünaamilisi nähtusi, analüüsides nende mõju laeva käitumisele erinevates ekspluatatsioonitingimustes;
- analüüsib laeva takistust ja propulsiooni mõjutavaid tegureid, hinnates nende mõju laeva energiatarbele ja tööefektiivsusele;
- kasutab teoreetilisi ja eksperimentaalseid meetodeid laeva liikumisparameetrite määramiseks ja hindamiseks, tõlgendades saadud tulemusi insenertehnilisest vaatenurgast;
- analüüsib laeva käitumist lainetes, hinnates meresõiduomadusi lähtudes ohutus-, kasutus- ja mugavusnõuetest;
- hindab laeva manööverdusomadusi, seostades neid laeva geomeetria, massijaotuse ja juhtimissüsteemidega;
- analüüsib väikelaevade hüdrodünaamilisi ja meresõiduomadusi, põhjendades nende seoseid konstruktsiooniliste lahenduste ja normatiivsete nõuetega;
- lahendab laeva hüdrodünaamika ja meresõiduomadustega seotud insenertehnilisi ülesandeid, põhjendades valitud meetodeid ja saadud tulemusi.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
After completing this course the student:
- explains hydrodynamic phenomena affecting ship motion, analysing their influence on vessel behaviour under different operating conditions;
- analyses factors affecting ship resistance and propulsion, evaluating their impact on energy consumption and operational efficiency;
- applies theoretical and experimental methods to determine and evaluate ship motion parameters, interpreting the obtained results from an engineering perspective;
- analyses ship behaviour in waves, evaluating seakeeping performance with regard to safety, operational, and comfort requirements;
- evaluates ship manoeuvring characteristics, relating them to hull geometry, mass distribution, and steering systems;
- analyses the hydrodynamic and seakeeping characteristics of small craft, justifying their relationship with structural design solutions and regulatory requirements;
- solves engineering problems related to ship hydrodynamics and seakeeping, justifying the selected methods and obtained results.
