VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
Õppeaine eesmärk on:
- anda üliõpilastele baasteadmised hüdrostaatika alustest;
- anda üliõpilastele baasteadmised laeva stabiilsusest, uppumatusest ja meresõiduomadustest ning väikelaeva iseärasustest;
- anda alusteadmised mudelkatsete teooriast.
course aims in English
- The aim of the course is to:
- provide basics of hydrostatics;
- give an overview of ship stability, unsinkability, seaworthiness, and in the specific characteristics of small craft;
- students will learn the fundamentals of model testing theory.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- selgitab hüdrostaatika põhimõisteid, seadusi ja seaduspärasusi ning rakendab neid laeva ujuvuse ja tasakaalu analüüsimisel;
- analüüsib laevale mõjuvaid hüdrostaatilisi jõude ja momente, seostades neid laeva geomeetria ja massijaotusega;
- arvutab ja hindab laeva ujuvust ja püstuvust, lähtudes asjakohastest normidest, disainikategooriatest ja kasutustingimustest;
- analüüsib laeva meresõiduomadusi, hinnates nende mõju meresõiduohutusele, kasutusomadustele ja majanduslikule efektiivsusele;
- hindab väikelaevade sõiduomaduste eripärasid, põhjendades nende seoseid konstruktsiooniliste lahenduste ja väikelaevadele kehtestatud nõuetega;
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
After completing this course the student:
- explains the fundamental concepts, laws, and principles of hydrostatics and applies them to the analysis of ship buoyancy and equilibrium;
- analyses hydrostatic forces and moments acting on a vessel, relating them to hull geometry and mass distribution;
- calculates and evaluates ship buoyancy and stability, taking into account relevant regulations, design categories, and operating conditions;
- analyses ship seakeeping characteristics, evaluating their impact on navigational safety, operational performance, and economic efficiency;
- evaluates the specific performance characteristics of small craft, justifying their relationship with structural design solutions and applicable regulatory requirements;
- solves engineering problems related to ship stability and buoyancy, interpreting calculation results from the perspective of safety and operability (determines the pressure and its change in water in a state of equilibrium, determines the pressure and its change in water in a state of relative equilibrium, determines the pressure force on a submerged surface and a body, determines the buoyancy and stability of a body).
