VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
Õppeaine eesmärk on:
- tutvustada väikelaeva ehitust reguleerivaid nõudeid;
- harjutada väikelaeva ehitusprojekti koostamist;
- arendada arvutus-, modelleerimis- ja joonestustarkvara kasutamise oskust.
course aims in English
The aim of this course is to:
- introduce the regulatory requirements for small craft construction;
- practice the preparation of small craft construction projects;
- develop skills in using calculation, 3D modeling, and CAD software.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- tuvastab eelprojekti põhjal enimkoormatud komponendid laevakeres;
- kirjeldab enimlevinud materjale ja nende kasutust laevaehituses;
- valib detailsusastme, milleni laeva komponendid projekteerida enne tootmise algust;
- leiab standarditest asjakohaseid nõudeid, mis mõjutavad aluse ehitust;
- võrdleb tootmismahust lähtudes erinevate ehitusviiside maksumust;
- loetleb enimlevinud vead ehitusprotsessis ning nende vältimise viisid.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
After completing this course the student:
- identifies the most loaded hull components based on the concept design;
- describes the commonly used materials and their applications in shipbuilding;
- chooses the level of detail to which ship components should be designed before production begins;
- finds relevant requirements from standards that influence the construction of the vessel;
- compares the costs of different construction methods based on production volume;
- lists the most common mistakes in the construction process and ways to avoid them.
brief description of the course in Estonian
L1 Kerele mõjuvad koormused. Selles loengus uurime, millised jõud mõjuvad alusele merel ja milliseid laeva osi nad koormavad.
L2 Sõrestik. Väljastpoolt on laevakere voolujooneline, seestpoolt peab seda miski toetama. Kuidas tugevdatakse plaadistust? Selles loengus tutvume põhiliste sõrestikuelementidega ning uurime, kuidas neid valida ja paigutada.
L3 Metallkere projekteerimine. Projekteerime virtuaalruumis metallist laevakere. Eriline tähelepanu kuulub keerukama kujuga laeva osadele. Õpime tundma standardeid ning arvestame laeva ehituseks kuluvat materjali hulka.
L4 Metall-laevade tootmine. Kuidas saab 3D-mudelist päris laev? Sammhaaval jälgime metallkere sündi, alates staaplist kuni vettelaskmise ja viimistluseni.
L5 Komposiitkere projekteerimine. Kaasaegsem materjal avab uued võimalused, kuid seab ka uued piirangud. Süveneme standarditesse veelgi. Harjutame vilumust 3D-programmidega.
L6 Komposiitlaevade tootmine. See loeng käsitleb komposiitdetailide valmistamist ja nende kokkupanekut laevaks. Uurime võimalikke tootmisvigu ja õpime neid vältima veel enne, kui laevatehases töö algab.
L7 Puidust laevad. Olles näinud kaasaegseid lahendusi ja tänaseid standardeid, uurime, kuidas nad just selliseks kujunesid. See loeng tutvustab puitlaeva saamislugu ellingust vettelaskmiseni. Õpime planeerima tööde järjekorda ja ennustama ajakulu.
brief description of the course in English
L1 Loads acting on the hull. In this lecture, we will examine the forces acting on a vessel at sea and which parts of the ship they act on.
L2 Scantlings. The hull has a streamlined shape from the outside, something has to support it from the inside. How is plating reinforced? In this lecture, we will get acquainted with the main scantling elements and examine how to choose and arrange them.
L3 Designing a metal hull. We will design a metal ship’s hull in virtual space. Special attention is paid to parts of the ship with a more complex shape. We will learn about standards and estimate the amount of material required for shipbuilding.
L4 Production of metal ships. How does a 3D model become a real ship? Step by step, we follow the birth of a metal hull, from keel to launch and outfitting.
L5 Designing a composite hull. A more modern material opens up new possibilities but also sets new limitations. We delve deeper into standards. We practice proficiency with 3D programs.
L6 Production of composite ships. This lecture deals with the manufacture of composite parts and their assembly into a ship. We examine possible production errors and learn to avoid them even before work begins at the shipyard.
L7 Wooden ships. Having seen modern solutions and today’s standards, we examine how they evolved into what they are now. This lecture introduces the construction story of a wooden ship from slipway to launch. We learn to plan the order of work and predict time spent on the construction.
type of assessment in Estonian
Kõik iseseisvad tööd vormistatakse ja hinnatakse skaalal 1-5. Iga iseseisva töö kirjelduses on näidatud, kuidas jagunevad punktid töö osade vahel. Iseseisvate tööde hinnete keskmine saab kursuse lõpphindeks.
type of assessment in English
All independent study reports are graded on a scale of 1-5. In the description of every independent study, it is shown how points are distributed between sections of the report. The average grade of the independent studies will constitute the course grade.
