Üliõpilane:
- rakendab erialaste probleemide analüüsimisel, hindamisel ja lahendamisel interdistsiplinaarseid meetodeid ja sobivaid tehnikaid, meetodeid ja tehnoloogiaid ning oskab hinnata lahenduste võimalikke tagajärgi;
- tunneb disaini ning installatsiooni spetsiifilisi printsiipe ümberehitusprojektides.

- hindab erinevate tootmistehnoloogiate ja tootmisprotsesside kasutamist meretehnika komponentide loomisel,;

- ülevaade karmistuvatest keskkonnanõuetest laevaehitusele;
- vastavad reeglid ja regulatsioonid;
- laevade ümberehituse spetsiifika nii disainis kui ka installatsioonis;
- logistika aspektid;
- installatsioon eripärad jooksvalt laeva opereerimise käigus võrreldes kuivtokiga;
- laeva efektiivsuse indeks.
