To prepare specialists and middle-level managers in port and shipping management on applied higher educational level for working in public and private sector,
by providing them necessary general and technical knowledge, skills for individual and teamwork in multicultural working environment, and professional preparation and competencies.

Learning outcomes of the study programme
Graduate:
- has systematic approach on maritime transport, terminology of the subject, theoretical principles and research methods;


- knows contemporary issues of the maritime industry and utilization measures and recognizes interdisciplinary relationships;
- has thourough knowledge of the organisation and management of the fleet, ports and maritime mediatory activities including chartering, ship's agency and freight forwarding;
- is prepared to work individually as well as in team in multicultural environment and is able to communicate in professional estonian, russian and english languages, knowing necessary information and communication technologies for that;
- understands basic foundations of the organization, state and society, principles of economy, is able to evaluate it's own suitability for enterpreneurship;
- knows how to conduct research independently, knows how to use appropriate research methods and means and creativity, and critically assess the inputs and results of the work;
- is able to evaluate the needs of it's own and team's further education needs and is motivated to improve itself professionally.

Graduation requirements
Completion of the curriculum in the required amount, and the
successful defence of the graduation paper in conformity with the requirements set by the TalTech Senate; In order to obtain Cum Laude diploma the graduation paper must be defended for the grade "5" and the weighted average grade must be at least 4,60, where all grades from diploma supplement are taken into account.
