- to create prerequisites for employment that requires master's degree in international relations and a deeper understanding of the European integration or the Asia-Pacific region and their interactions;
- to create prerequisites for further studies, including doctoral studies and research, that require enhanced knowledge and critical approach in international relations;
- to develop an interdisciplinary approach in the field of international relations and link it with other disciplines;

- is prepared for working at national, non-governmental or international organizations, companies, their agencies and regional branches, think tanks, educational institutions, research institutes and non-governmental institutions at international, regional, national or local level;
- uses interdisciplinary approach to solve professional problems;
- highlights the specifics of research methods and theories in social sciences and international relations
- uses independently, critically and arguably the knowledge gained in analyzing, defining and solving international relations issues;
- implements professional management and teamwork skills;
- identifies needs for enhancing and directing professional qualifications.

Completing the required volume of studies and successfully defending one's thesis according to the rules established by the council of TTÜ.
