- to provide broad fundamental education in the field of properties, applications and processing of the most relevant modern materials, establishing prerequisites for continuing the studies on master level or/and working as specialist (engineer, technologist, project manager) in a relevant company.

- have fundamental knowledge in field specific ICT and can apply it in arrangement of production and design of products;
- understands the most relevant environmental and health risks related to production and utilisation of materials and can avoid them.
