To deepen the understanding of
(i) planet Earth,
(ii) the phenomena and processes of the nature,
(iii) the important interdependencies of the humans and the nature and counteractions between the two.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
• mõistab geofüüsikaliste ja geoloogiliste protsesside mõju maakera reljeefile, vee tsirkulatsioonile, atmosfääri koostisele ja selle läbi maakera kliimale ning selle muutustele
• omab ettekujutust looduslike protsesside tsüklilisusest
• saab aru erinevate sfääride vahelise aine- ja energiaringe tähtsusest

The student who has passed the syllabus:
• understands the impact of the geophysical and geological processes on the relief of the Earth, on the circulation of water, on the constituents of the atmosphere and, as a result of it, also to the climate of the earth and changes thereto;
• has an understanding of the cyclic essence of the natural processes
• understands the importance of the circulation of the matter and energy between different spheres

Käsitletakse Maad osana Päikesesüsteemist, litosfääri, hüdrosfääri, atmosfääri ja biosfääri arengut Maa geoloogilises ajaloos; tegureid, mis kujundavad tänapäevase looduskeskkonna erinevatel kontinentidel

The Earth is being disserted as part of the Solar system; development of lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere in the geological history of the Earth; factors that shape the current natural environment in different continents
