Give the student overview about work in a specific research lab.

Üliõpilane:
- on tuttav laboris kehtivate ohutus- ja turvareeglitega ning täidab neid;
- on tuttav konkreetse teaduslabori teadustöö põhiliste eesmärkidega, kasutatavate metoodikate alustega;
- on võimeline juhendaja käe all läbi viima erinevaid antud laborile iseloomulikke katseid ja uuringuid;
- oskab pidada laboripäevikut (paberil või arvutis), koostada sellesse kantud informatsiooni abil raporteid ja ettekandeid tehtud töö kohta ning neid publikule esitada.

The student:
- is familiar with the safety and security rules of the particular laboratory and follows them;
- is familiar with the main goals of research of the particular laboratory, and with the basics of the research methods used therein;
- is able to carry out, under supervision, different experiments typical for the lab;
- is able to keep a research diary (on paper or in computer) and use the data from it to prepare reports and present the results to fellow researchers and professors.

Aine läbitakse individuaalkorras ühes ülikooli teaduslaboris, mille uurimistemaatika seondub õppekavaga. Üldjuhul on selleks sama labor, milles üliõpilane teeb oma lõputöö. Praktilise tegevuse käigus tutvub üliõpilane labori töökorraga ja teadustöö temaatikaga, ohutustehnikaga, õpib teostama antud laborile tüüpilisi eksperimente, pidama oma tegevuse kohta laboripäevikut, esitama teostatud katsete tulemusi suuliselt ja/või kirjalikult.

The subject is passed individually in a university research laboratory which is related to the study programme. Typically this is the same lab where the student shall perform his/her thesis research. Through practical instruction, the student familiarizes him/herself with research done in the lab, with safety rules, learns to perform typical experiments in this lab, and to keep a laboratory diary. Also the student should be able to present the results in oral and/or written from.

The student presents a written and/or oral report of the activities performed during the course.
