Õppeaine eesmärk on anda üliõpilastele võimalus:
- tutvuda baasettevõtte, -firma või -asutuse põhitegevuse suundadega;
- tutvuda asutuse põhitegevusega;
- täita iseseisvalt konkreetseid tööüleandeid;
- õppida tegutsema meeskonna koosseisus püstitatud ülesande täitmiseks;
- õppida selgeks ja täies ulatuses omandada kogemusi baasasutuse tegutsemise alal;
- õppida efektiivselt rakendama ülikoolis saadud teoreetilisi teadmisi.

The aim of the course is to provide students with the opportunity to:
- get acquainted with trends of main activities of the given company;
- get familiar with main activities of the given company;
- complete individual tasks;
- learn to work with the team in order to solve the given task;
- understand and get wide experience in work area of the company;
- learn to effectively use the theoretical knowledge gotten during the studies in the university.

Praktika läbinud üliõpilane:
- rakendab efektiivselt varem omandatud teoreetilisi teadmisi;
- planeerib oma tegevust, koostades individuaaltööplaani;
- kirjeldadab tehnoloogilist, projekteerimist või muud protsessi baasettevõttes, eriti sellist milles ise osales;
- annab objektiivse hinnangu oma tegevusele praktika ajal.

The student who has completed practical training:
- effectively uses the obtained theoretical knowledge;
- plans his or her activities, creating an individual work plan;
- describes technological process, development plan or some other process in the given company, especially those that he or she has participated in;
- gives an objective evaluation of his or her activities during practical training.

Praktika käigus tutvutakse firma (asutuse) töö- ning tehnoloogiakeskkonnaga. Praktika protsessis toimub teoreetiliste teadmiste kinnistamine ja tööalaste vilumiste omandamine. Osaletakse konkreetse tööprotsessis. Praktika võib toimuda nii tööstusettevõttes kui ka uurimisasutustes, kus üliõpilane osaleb uurimisgrupi töös. Praktika ametikohtadena sobivad töökohad, mis eeldavad erialaste teadmiste omamist ja rakendamist. Praktikaasutustena sobivad arvutisüsteemide projekteerimisega, rakendamise, haldamise ja uurimisega seotud firmad.
Ühele EAP vastab üks nädal tööd praktikakohal osalusteguriga 1,0.

During the practical training the student gets familiar with the working and technological environment of the company and puts to practice the theoretical knowledge and acquires work experience. The student takes part in real work process. Practical training can be done in industrial company or research company where student takes part in the work of a research group. Companies that deal with designing, implementing, administrating and research in the field of computer systems are suitable for passing the practical training.
One ECTS credit corresponds to one week of work at the practical training with a participation factor of 1.0.

Arvestus antakse esitatud nõuetekohese aruande ja dokumentatsiooni esitamise alusel.

Evaluation is given based on presented required report and documentation.

Iseseisev praktikakoha leidmine ja praktikaülesannete täitmine.

Independent search for practical training place and completing practical tasks.
