Teach to analyse and decipher the objectives, methods and theories of landscape architecture in relation to overlapping side- and sub-specialties. Introduce possible specialisation directions in theory and teach to decipher them through various projects. Develop professional communication skills.

Kursusel tegeletakse maastikuarhitektuuri eesmärkide, meetodite ja teooriate/analüüsi mõtestamisega seoses kattuvate kõrval- ja allerialadega. Võimalikke spetsialiseerumissuundi tutvustatakse teoreetiliselt ja mõtestatakse lahti läbi projektide. Need projektid on juhtumiuuringud, mida tehakse grupitööna läbi erinevate ülesannete, mis hõlmavad nii erinevate teemade analüüsi kui erinevate ruumiskaaladega tegelemist. Hiljem järgneb iseseisev töö, kus õpilased vaatlevad on juhtumiuuringud lähtuvalt oma kogemustest ja eelnevast taustast. Lõpuks valivad nad oma magistri õpisuuna. Maastikuarhitektuuri uuritakse läbi loengute, kirjanduse uurimise, töötubade ja ekskursioonide. Leide ja mõtteid arutatakse seminarivormis.

The course deals with landscape architecture objectives, methods and theories / analysis in relation to the conceptualisation and overlapping side- and sub-specialties. Possible specialisation directions are introduced theoretically and deciphered through projects. These projects are case studies that are carried out as group work through various assignments that include the analysis of various topics and addressing different spatial scale. Later followed by independent work, where students observe their case studies drawing on their experience and previous background. Finally, they choose their master studies direction. Landscape architecture is examined through lectures, literary studies, workshops and excursions. Findings and ideas are discussed in a seminar format.
