Kursus annab ülevaate erinevatest õigusteoreetilistest raamistikest, millel põhinevad küsimused õigusest, õigussüsteemidest, õiguse allikatest, õigussubjektsusest ja õiguse objektidest, seaduslikkusest ja legitiimsusest, õiguskultuurist, õiguse institutsioonidest, õiguse n-ö tehnilistest vahenditest ja õigusharidusest.

This course is crafted to make a professional observation of different theoretical frameworks, which create solid boundaries for any analysis of or discussion on law, legal systems, legal authority, legal subject and object, legality and legitimacy, legal culture, legal institutions, legal technique, and legal education.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- selgitab seaduste filosoofilisi, ajaloolisi ja õiguslikke aluseid;
- selgitab eri tüüpi õigussüsteemide olemust;
- rakendab teooriaid ja kontseptsioone õiguslikes küsimustes.

After passing the course student:
- explains the philosophical, historical and legal foundations of laws;
- explains the essence of various types of legal systems;
- applies the theories and concepts to legal issues.

See kursus tutvustab õpilastele seaduste, õigusteooriate ja õigussüsteemide aluseid. Teemade hulka kuuluvad õigusteooriad, õiguse määratlus, õiguse filosoofia, eri tüüpi õigussüsteemid, õigusala elukutse, eetika jne. Piisavat rõhku pannakse asjakohastele kohtupraktikatele.

This course introduces students to the foundations of laws, legal theories and legal systems. Topics include legal theories, definition of law, philosophy of law, different types of legal systems, the legal profession, ethics, etc. Due emphasis is laid on appropriate case laws.

Lõpphinne kujuneb eraldi osade koondina.

The final grade is formed as a set of separate parts.
