Õppeaine eesmärk on omandada sobivas mahus süvendatud teadmised biomeditsiinist ja/või tervisetehnoloogiatest ning doktorandi doktoritöö temaatikaga seonduvast.

The aim of the course is to acquire in suitable scope in-depth knowledge related to biomedicine and/or health technologies and the subject of the doctoral student's PhD thesis.

Kursuse läbinud doktorant:
- omab põhjalikke erialaseid teadmisi oma doktoritöö teema valdkonnas, selle erinevatest suundadest, terminitest, protsessidest ja uurimismeetoditest;
- identifitseerib ja püstitab oma teadusvaldkonnas aktuaalseid probleeme ja ülesandeid.

After completing the course, the doctoral student:
- has a thorough professional knowledge in the field of his/her doctoral thesis, its different directions, terms, processes and research methods;
- identifies and formulates current problems and tasks in his/her field of research.

Õppeaine konkreetse sisu (põhiõpik) määrab doktorandi juhendaja, lähtudes doktoritöö spetsiifikast ja doktorandi teaduslikest huvidest.

The specific content of the course (main textbook) is determined by the supervisor of the PhD student, proceeding from the specifics of the PhD thesis and the scientific interests of the doctoral student.
