The course covers the issues and methods of IT operations; the principles of IT service operation; and the need to plan and manage the relevant processes. Teaching the practical aspects of infrastructure development and operations.

Aine läbinu teab mis on IT ülalhoid, tunneb IT ülalhoiu peamisi probleeme ja meetodeid, tunneb IT teenuse haldamise põhimõtteid ja oskab planeerida ning juhtida IT ülalhoiu protsesse.

On completion of the course, the student understands IT operations, knows the main issues and methods of IT operations, knows the principles of IT service management and can plan and manage IT operations processes.

Peamised teemad: IT haldamise ja infrastruktuuri põhimõisted, IT ja äri vahelised seosed, ITSM jt. IT haldamise protsessid ja nendevahelised soesed, IT lahenduste olemus ja nende vajaduste mõistmine, IT lahenduste valiku praktikas kasutatavad kriteeriumid, IT organisatsioon ja erinevad rollid, sisekontroll ja auditeerimine, serveriruumid ja neile esitatavad nõuded, lühiülevaade IT usaldusväärsusega seotud problemaatikast.

Main topics: main concepts of IT operations and infrastructure, connections between IT and business, ITSM, et al IT management processes and the links between them, nature of IT solutions and understanding their needs, criteria used in practce in IT solution choice, IT organisations and different roles, internal checks and auditing, server rooms and their requirements, brief overview of problems related to IT reliability.

Teadmiste kontroll toimub eksamil. Eksamile pääsemiseks peab olema sooritatud iseseisev aineprojekt.
