Täiustada üliõpilaste arusaamist ruumiprotsesside kujunemist mõjutavate tegurite teoreetilistest alustest ning ruumiloome praktikatest ning probleemidest sh. ka võimalustest ruumiloomes aktiivselt ise kaasa rääkida.

To improve the understanding of students about the factors influencing the development of spatial processes both in theory and practice. To empower the students to explain and intervene in spatial change when needed.

- sõnastab probleeme (avaliku) ruumi kujunemisel ning seostab neid teoreetiliste tekstidega;
- viib läbi juhtumiuuringu ning pakub lahendusi avastatud probleemidele;
- kommunikeerib töö tulemusi nii erasektori/avaliku sektori tellijale ning annab soovitusi edasisteks sammudeks;
- kommunikeerib tööde tulemusi laiemale avalikkusele erinevate meediakanalite kaudu.

- defines problems in shaping (public) spaces and associates them with theoretical texts;
- conducts a case study and provides solutions to found problems;
- communicates the results of their work to public/or private sector client and gives recommendations for further steps;
- communicates the result of their work in wider public though various media.

Käsitletakse erinevate distsipliinide lähenemist ruumile ja maastikule - sh. esteetika, semootika, poliitika, geograafia, majandus jne. Uuritakse kaasaege planeerimisprotsesside taktkaid ning positiivseid rahvusvahelisi näiteid.
Kursuse osad on: õppekäik, välitööd, seminarid, iseseisev meeskonnatöö.
Kursuse rakenduslikku osa tasakaalustab teoreetiliste lähtekohtade võrdlev analüüs ning erinevate teoreetiliste seiskohtade mudeldamine mõne ruumiprotsessi näitel. Praktiliseks osaks on erinevate probleeme lahendavate strateegiate koostamine ning nende kommunikeerimine erinevatele huvitatud osapooltele.

Different disciplines concerned with space and landcape are discussed - incl. estethics, semiotics, politics, geography, economy ect. Tactics of contemporary planning processes and positive international examples are researched.
Course consists of fieldwork, seminars and independent teamwork.
The practical outcome of the course is balanced by the analysis of theory and its application to specific spatial processes. Practical part is the development of strategy solving spatial issue and its communication to various stakeholders.
